Susanne Johnson is a Long Island based fine art photographer. Her imagery contains self-portraiture and personal memoir depicting universal emotions. They are an exploration of what exists in the mind. As humans we store our ideas, our memories, and those non-verbal thoughts in our subconscious. Susanne makes images to explore this subconscious, allowing herself to reveal those abstract thoughts and emotions that are verbally unrecognizable.
Susanne received her MFA degree in Photography from C.W. Post Long Island University in 2010. As a nationally and internationally exhibited artist some of her recent exhibits include Chase Edwards Gallery, Oyster Bay NY; SPACE 38|39 - IAM, New York, NY; St. Joseph's College, Patchogue, NY; The Emily Harvey Foundation Gallery, New York, NY; The Second Avenue Firehouse Gallery, Bayshore NY; WCO Manhattan Gallery, Chelsea NY; FotoFoto Gallery, Huntington NY and the Long Island Museum, Stony Brook, NY. She is a member of several professional groups including Professional Women Photographers, College Art Association and the Society for Photographic Education.
